Dorset buttons are essentially covered rings. You'll be using metal rings and they’re woven threads or yarns.

London. SE10 9HY Marcia and Mec will show you the basics of traditional Dorset Button weaving/making.
From the basics, you will weave your button, usually starting with a criss-cross foundation of spokes around the button, which is whipped together with a ribbed spider web stitch. They can also be made into a brooch and used to embellish garments and accessories.
